Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking an EHS Consulting Manager to lead a portfolio of consulting and embedded services accounts in New York. You will blend technical EHS expertise with account leadership to deliver client outcomes and grow relationships.

This role requires managing a team of 6–10 consultants, overseeing proposals and engagement economics, and interpreting evolving regulations to create practical programs that keep clients compliant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental science, engineering, or related field.
• At least one professional certification (CSP, CIH, CHMM, CBSP) or equivalent.
• 6–10 years of progressive EHS consulting or corporate EHS experience.
• Experience leading proposals and managing engagement economics (scope, budget, margin).
• Experience managing client accounts or portfolios with satisfaction and growth.
• Ability to interpret regulations (RCRA, OSHA, air, water) and translate to programs.
• Willingness to travel 40–60% to client sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex, multi-disciplinary EHS assessments and programs.
• Serve as trusted advisor to client stakeholders at the site EHS director and VP levels.
• Support EHS operations through technical delivery, PM, QC, and oversight of delivery services.
• Grow portfolio by identifying expansion opportunities, leading proposals, and cross-selling.
• Manage multi-workstream engagements with disciplined scope, budget, milestones.
• Develop and mentor a team of 6–10 EHS consultants.
• Provide training, guidance, and quality reviews of the team's work.
• Spot opportunities from on-site observations and client conversations, and partner with sales.
• Make pricing and scope decisions to maximize client value across integrated services.
• Interpret evolving regulatory requirements into actionable programs.
