Job summary

Memphis Shelby County Schools is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Compliance Advisor to oversee OSHA, CPSC, OHS standards and Head Start requirements across district facilities and operations.

You will develop and deliver safety awareness training, monitor health and safety performance, and maintain comprehensive documentation. Collaboration with DHS and TDOE teams will ensure timely compliance and effective risk management across campuses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Public Health, or a related field with a total of eight years of education/experience.
• Experience with OSHA, CPSC, OHS Health and Safety standards, and Head Start requirements.
• Proof of education, training, and/or experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate compliance monitoring for facilities, materials, playgrounds and equipment to meet district and contractor standards.
• Inspect facilities and playgrounds for OSHA, CPSC, DHS, and TDOE compliance.
• Plan and organize monitoring events for Environmental Health and Safety activities.
• Coordinate and track follow-up on health and safety monitoring.
• Assist Education Director with preparing compliance reports.
• Collaborate with Head Start safety teams to meet federal requirements.
• Inspect environments to ensure cleanliness, safety, and accessibility for students.
• Conduct trainings on safety protocols and update training materials.
• Maintain reports and documentation for accurate recordkeeping.
• Attend staff meetings to provide progress updates and recommend corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain EH&S policies for the Division of Early Childhood.
