Job summary

Independent School District No. 622 is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Manager to develop, implement, and oversee district-wide programs ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and state regulations. This role serves as the district's safety SME and coordinates with facilities, operations, and external agencies.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on training experience, strategic planning, and the ability to manage audits, investigations, and safety communications across multiple campuses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Health & Safety or equivalent.
• Five years of environmental health & safety experience.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel between district buildings.
• Preferred CSP, CIH, or ASP certifications.

Responsibilities

• Conduct safety, health, and environmental audits across facilities.
• Serve as liaison with OSHA, EPA, Fire Marshal, and Health Department.
• Oversee hazardous materials handling and AHERA plans.
• Manage IAQ investigations, radon and lead testing, and remediation plans.
• Lead safety training programs for staff and oversee onboarding.
• Chair safety committees and coordinate with facilities and contractors.
• Investigate accidents and implement corrective actions.
