Job summary

Sun Chemical in Valparaiso, IN seeks an experienced EHS leader to drive site compliance and sustainability initiatives. You will develop, train, and enforce EHS policies, partner with site leadership, and oversee PSM and RMP programs to ensure regulatory adherence.

The role focuses on inspections, investigations, audits, and performance metrics, coordinating with corporate EHS and other plant teams for ongoing improvements in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years’ EHS experience in manufacturing.
• 3+ years’ experience with PSM and/or RMP facilities.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance systems and occupational safety programs.
• Must be able to lead directly and by influence.

Responsibilities

• Ensure activities comply with local, state, and federal EHS regulations.
• Serve as EHS representative on plant leadership team and during external visits/audits.
• Upgrade and maintain PSM and RMP programs and compliance.
• Prepare regulatory reports: UIC, Tier II, TRI, RMP, etc.; maintain permits.
• Develop and implement EHS improvements with PLT and corporate EHS.
