Job summary

Precoat Metals' La Porte, IN facility is seeking an EHS professional to partner with plant management to drive a culture of safety. You will monitor working and environmental conditions to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, provide safety training, and lead the plant's environmental program including air, water, and waste regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in safety or environmental management, manufacturing, engineering or similar preferred.
• 3+ years’ experience in workplace EHS management.
• Experience in health, safety, and environmental in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Experience with coil coating, metals and manufacturing preferred.
• Knowledge of state and federal safety guidelines for the workplace.
• Knowledge of OSHA, CAA, CWA, RCRA and SPCC regulations.
• Familiar with ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversees forklift and crane compliance and training programs; maintains certification and inspection records.
• Ensures safety policies are followed and employees are trained on health and safety requirements.
• Chairs Safety Committee and conducts monthly meetings.
• Monitors plant activities for policy violations; enforces PPE use and safety procedures.
• Ensures regulatory safety compliance and implements improvements; updates safety policies.
• Administers New Hire Safety Orientation and maintains OSHA logs and reporting.
• Manages Emergency Response Plans and incident reporting; conducts safety audits.
• Maintains safety-related documentation and prepares audit-ready reports.
• Investigates incidents with local management; coordinates spills and reports.
• Develops relationships to foster positive safety culture and behavior.
