Job summary

Springfield Clinic is seeking an Electronic Health Record (EHR) Index Clerk II to electronically build patient charts, select patients in the imaging system, ensure the correct chart structure, assign document owners, and initiate review tasks for providers.

The role requires attention to detail, the ability to work with multiple computer programs, and adherence to clinic policies. It is a sedentary, computer-based position within a healthcare environment focusing on HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required and 90-day work experience in document imaging required.
• Electronic record forms/placement test will be required for successful completion of the probationary period.

Responsibilities

• Access the appropriate workflow for the documents to be processed within the EHR.
• Electronically identify the correct patient in the EHR.
• Initiate and send a "Review Document" task to the provider, and insert scanned documents into the appropriate patient folder.
• Print the daily indexing assignments.
• Scan documents into the EHR under the appropriate provider, patient, and department.
• Quality Check documents as requested.
• Maintain a positive attitude in working to achieve departmental goals.
• Demonstrate professional behavior in associations with patients and employees both within and outside the complex.
• Follow all Clinic policies and procedures.
• Comply with the Springfield Clinic incident reporting policy and procedures.
• Adhere to all OSHA and Springfield Clinic training & accomplishments as required per policy.
• Provide excellent customer service and adhere to SC Way customer service philosophy.
