Job description

Educational Therapist or Reading Specialist

Adapted Learning Center is seeking a dedicated Educational Therapist or Reading Specialist to provide individualized academic support for students with learning differences. This role involves working with children and adolescents either one-on-one or in small groups, helping them develop essential learning skills and strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or teaching credential strongly preferred
  • Experience with structured literacy or multisensory intervention programs such as Orton-Gillingham, Slingerland, Wilson, Lindamood-Bell, Making Math Real is highly preferred
  • Experience working one-on-one or in small groups with children aged 5-18
  • Ability to interpret psycho-educational and neuropsychological reports and develop appropriate intervention plans
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and educational teams

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support and intervention for students in grades K-12 with learning challenges
  • Develop and implement data-driven intervention plans tailored to each student's needs
  • Conduct progress monitoring to track growth and adjust strategies accordingly
  • Support parents/guardians in navigating educational placements and services
  • Collaborate with students, families, school staff, and professionals for comprehensive support
