Job summary

Poplar Bluff School District is seeking a Computer Technician to maintain and support district technology, ensuring reliable hardware and software operation for classrooms and staff.

The role requires hands-on troubleshooting, inventory control and collaboration with teachers to ensure smooth daily operations, as well as the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.

Qualifications

  • Equivalent of two years of college-level coursework in computer science, information technology or a related field.
  • Two years of general computer installation, maintenance and repair experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri driver's license and driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software problems.
  • Update and maintain hardware and software components.
  • Provide technical assistance and training to end-users.
  • Inventory and maintain all technology hardware.
  • Assist in maintaining wide and local area networks.
  • Must be able to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
  • Must be able to prioritize duties and complete work orders without direction.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
