Job summary

RSU 40/MSAD 40 SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking an Interventionist Educational Technician III to provide targeted academic and behavioral support to students in small groups or one-on-one settings. The role reinforces classroom instruction, implements intervention plans, and collects progress data to guide future instruction.

Responsibilities include delivering pre-planned interventions, supporting accommodations, monitoring progress, and maintaining a safe, structured learning environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold Maine State Educational Technician III Certification.
• Must have valid and current CHRC.

Responsibilities

• Work with individuals or small groups to provide instructional, intervention and assessment support.
• Deliver specialized, pre-planned interventions to small groups or individual students outside or within the classroom.
• Support students with accommodations and/or modifications.
• Review and reinforce learning previously introduced by the teacher(s).
• Monitor student progress, maintain records of interventions and collect data to inform future instruction and PLP updates.
• Implement behavioral plans, model positive behavior, and maintain a structured, safe learning environment.
• Collaborate with the MTSS team to discuss student progress and plan interventions.
• Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
• Assist with recess, lunch, dismissal and arrival duties.
• Maintain confidentiality of all student and employee related information.

Interventionist Educational Technician III

Job Goal

The Interventionist Ed Tech III is responsible for providing targeted academic or behavioral support to students, typically in small groups or one-on-one settings. They reinforce classroom instruction, implement specialized intervention plans (such as for literacy or math), collect progress monitoring data, and assist with behavioral management to help students meet learning goals.

Qualifications

• Maine State Educational Technician III Certification
• Valid and current CHRC

Essential Functions

• Works with individuals or small groups of students to provide instructional, intervention and assessment support.
• Deliver specialized, pre-planned interventions to small groups or individual student outside or within the general classroom.
• Supports student with accommodations and/or modifications.
• Review and reinforce learning previously introduced by the teacher(s).
• Monitor student progress, maintain records of interventions and collect data to inform future instruction and PLP (personal learning plan) updates.
• Implement behavioral plans, model positive behavior, and maintain a structured, safe learning environment.
• Work collaboratively as a member of the MTSS (multi-tiered system of support) team to discuss student progress and plan interventions.
• Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
• Assist with recess, lunch, dismissal and arrival duties.
• Maintain confidentiality of all student and employee related information.
