Job summary

Carter Hears! seeks an Educational Interpreter for the 2026-2027 school year to join our award-winning team.

This role supports Deaf and Hard of Hearing students by providing accurate, developmentally appropriate classroom interpretation and by helping to enable engagement and understanding across lessons. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, experience in educational interpreting, and hold an EIPA Written Test; EIPA 3.5+ or NIC is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
• Experience in educational interpreting required or strongly preferred.
• EIPA Written Test is REQUIRED.
• EIPA 3.5+ REQUIRED or NIC is preferred.
• Background check, liability insurance, TB test.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate, developmentally appropriate classroom interpretation.
• Support student comprehension and classroom engagement.
• Monitor student comprehension, provide feedback to teachers, and assist with hearing technology as needed.
