Job summary

Carter Hears! is seeking an Educational Interpreter for the 2026–2027 school year to support Deaf and Hard of Hearing students across schools in the Southeast. The role focuses on accurate interpretation in classroom settings and collaboration with teachers for accessible learning experiences.

Applicants should have relevant interpreting experience, a degree in a related field, and must pass background checks and TB testing. EIPA/NIC credentials are required or preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
• Experience in educational interpreting.
• EIPA Written Test (REQUIRED).
• EIPA 3.5+ (REQUIRED) or NIC (preferred).
• Background check, liability insurance, TB test.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate, developmentally appropriate classroom interpretation.
• Support student comprehension and classroom engagement.
• Monitor student comprehension, provide feedback to teachers, and assist with hearing technology as needed.
