Job summary

Carter Hears! is seeking an Educational Interpreter for the 2026–2027 school year in Charlotte, NC. This role is vital in supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing students by providing accurate classroom interpretation and ensuring comprehension and engagement.

The ideal candidate will have a related bachelor's degree and experience in educational interpreting, with an EIPA score of 3.5+ or NIC certification. Join a collaborative team and help make a direct impact on students' success.

• Provide accurate, developmentally appropriate classroom interpretation
• Support student comprehension and classroom engagement
• Monitor student comprehension, provide feedback to teachers, and assist with hearing technology as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in related field (preferred)
• Experience in educational interpreting
• EIPA Written Test (PREFERRED)
• EIPA 3.5+ (REQUIRED) or NIC (preferred)
• Background check, liability insurance, TB test
