Job summary

Coppell ISD in Coppell, Texas is seeking a diagnostician to implement the special education appraisal process, assess educational needs and learning styles, and collaborate with instructional personnel to provide the most appropriate programs for students with disabilities.

Responsibilities include conducting assessments, participating in ARD meetings, interpreting data, and communicating findings to teachers, parents, and administrators in a timely, professional manner.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in special education, educational assessment or related field.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate.
• Two years of successful teaching experience.
• Knowledge of diagnostic procedures, education of special education students, human development, and learning theories.
• Knowledge of state and federal laws, rules and regulations and policies governing special education.
• Ability to interpret data and communicate findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Implement the appraisal process within time guidelines for initial referrals and re-evaluations.
• Demonstrate competence in administration and interpretation of formal and informal assessments.
• Collect and communicate learner information from records to educators, parents, and outside resources.
• Conduct classroom observation and personal interviews.
• Participate in ARD Committee to make recommendations on eligibility and placement.
• Use district data management system and evaluation report writer with proficiency.
