Job summary

Douglas County School District seeks an Educational Assistant (EA IV) to provide intensive, individualized support to students with Significant Support Needs under the guidance of a licensed special education teacher. You will assist with functional and academic instruction, personal care, and safety in a structured learning environment.

The role emphasizes collaboration on IEP goals and communication supports (PECS, AAC), promoting independence.

Qualifications

• Follow written and verbal instructions to implement IEPs, health plans, and behavior protocols with fidelity.
• Commitment to student dignity, safety, and promoting independence.
• Assist with personal care, toileting, and mobility with training.

Responsibilities

• Health, Mobility, & Safety: assist with positioning, transfers, and mobility using specialized equipment.
• Functional & Life Skills Support: support IEP goals across academics and daily living.
• Support communication using sign language, PECS, and AAC devices.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
