Job summary

Douglas County School District is seeking an Educational Assistant (EA IV) for the Significant Support Needs program at Legend High School in Parker, CO. The role provides intensive support to students with complex disabilities, assists with personal care and mobility, and helps implement IEP goals within a structured classroom environment.

37.5 hours per week (0.94 FTE) with a competitive benefits package; open until filled with a target date of 11/19/2026.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young adults with significant cognitive or physical disabilities, or complex medical needs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Health, Mobility, & Safety: Assist with student positioning, transferring, and mobility using specialized equipment; monitor and provide delegated health care procedures as trained; maintain a safe, clean learning environment during transitions, outdoor activities, and meals.
• Functional & Life Skills Support: Support IEP goal implementation across academics, functional skills, communication, social skills, and vocational training; ensure access to accommodations and reinforce instruction.
• Daily living support: assist with dressing, feeding, toileting, and personal hygiene; assist with communication methods including sign language, PECS, and AAC devices.
