Job summary

Douglas County School District in Highlands Ranch seeks an Educational Assistant (EA IV) to provide 1:1 support for a student, implementing the IEP, BIP, and Health Care Plan while ensuring safety and active participation throughout the school day.

The role requires flexibility, data recording, and collaboration with the Special Education Teacher. Position involves lifting and personal care as needed, with a 37.5-hour week, 0.94 FTE, and 180 work days.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions for implementing IEPs, health plans, and behavior protocols with fidelity.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and respond to complex student behaviors.
• Willingness to assist with personal care, toileting, and mobility (lifting and transferring with training).

Responsibilities

• Implement academic accommodations and modifications per the student's IEP.
• Execute BIP and crisis management strategies across settings.
• Collect and record data on academic, behavioral, social, and functional goals; report progress to the Special Education Teacher.
• Provide 1:1 support in general and special education settings (lunch, recess, field trips).
• Facilitate peer interaction and assist with transitions between classes and locations.
• Maintain line of sight for safety and health, and provide personal care assistance as needed.
• Follow Health Care Plan tasks, including delegated nursing duties as trained.
