Corvallis School District seeks an Educational Assistant 2, Limited Term, to support student learning by assisting licensed staff in curriculum implementation. Workdays are five days a week, 7 hours per day, with a 181-day calendar and a salaried rate of $21.25 per hour, plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree (or higher) or 72 quarter/48 semester credits or passing district assessment.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; including communications to parents.
• Ability to formulate ideas for program improvement.
• Ability to collect, record, store, retrieve, organize, and utilize information efficiently.
• Ability to understand and implement student discipline policies and manage behavior.
• Ability to work with challenging behaviors and apply intervention strategies.
• Ability to understand instructional goals and carry out related work.
• Ability to interact collaboratively with diverse individuals and groups.
• Ability to organize and direct work with students and others.
• Proficient in use of classroom/program equipment and technology.
• Ability to obtain specialized training as required.
• Ability to travel among district facilities; driving standards may apply.
• Standard First Aid certification or ability to obtain within two months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist in instruction of students in small group and one-on-one settings.
• Prepare instructional materials related to area of assignment; copy materials and collect supplies.
• Supervise student activities inside and outside the classroom as assigned.
• Train volunteers and professionals to work with students.
• Provide health-related procedures as requested following guidelines.
• Maintain high standards and expectations for student learning.
• Support students in developing independent work skills and career-related learning.
