Gwinnett Technical College is seeking an Educational Aide for Web Design in the Computer Science Division. This part-time, non-benefited position reports to the Program Director – Web Design and offers a salary of $15.60 per hour.

The Educational Aide will assist student computer users, perform basic lab administration, and help maintain daily logs and records while providing friendly, patient support to learners pursuing web design and development concepts.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Some technical college courses preferred (CIST 1001, CIST 1510, CIST 1530).
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills required; troubleshoot basic OS/hardware/software issues.
  • Ability to lift 15–30 lbs and be flexible with schedules.
  • Willingness to training and skill development; pursue relevant web design certifications a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist student computer users under supervision.
  • Accept direction and feedback from supervisor and follow through.
  • Perform basic administrative/clerical tasks to support the computer lab.
  • Provide oral and written reports and maintain program records.
  • Encourage and support students to learn with a positive attitude.
  • Operate office equipment and prepare correspondence per guidelines.
  • Arrive on time and comply with attendance and break policies.

Job Description: Educational Aide- Web Design This job is a part time, non-benefited position in the Computer Science Division that reports to the Program Director – Web Design Salary – $15.60 per hour.

Qualifications
  • Minimum Qualifications (Job Code H1001): Highs School diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred Qualifications: Some technical college courses preferred (CIST 1001, CIST 1510, CIST 1530).
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills required and should be able to troubleshoot operating system, hardware, software, Microsoft Office 2013/2016 applications, cd/DVD burning, and printer issues.
  • Ability to be flexible in working conditions, schedules, and be able to lift 15 to 30 lbs.
  • Open to training and skills development.
  • We also require the following skills: attention to detail, ability to multitask, stay on top of deadlines, fast learner, training skills, reporting/documenting capabilities, and excellent people skills.
  • Experience/ certification or pursuing certification in Web design/ Development, Game Design/Development, Microsoft Office 2013/2016, Web, Browsers, and any other computer certification is a plus.
  • Preference will be given to applicants who are current students at Gwinnett Technical College in the Computer Science Division.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Under general supervision, assists the student computer user at Gwinnett Technical College.
  • Accepts direction and feedback from supervisor and follows through appropriately - 20%
  • Performs basic administrative/clerical tasks to support the daily operation of the computer lab - 20%
  • Provides oral and written reports as required - Establishes and maintains records/files relating to the program's mission (daily sign in logs, if necessary) - 15%
  • Carefully listens to student(s) and offers encouragement and support. Maintains a positive, warm attitude that encourages the student(s) to learn - 20%
