Job summary

UCLA Anderson Computing & Information Services (ACIS) seeks a Technology Consultant to deliver hands-on support for 400 faculty/staff and 2000 students across classrooms and offices. The role requires handling video conferencing, A/V equipment, software, and printers, with strong customer service and problem-solving skills.

The position involves configuring, testing, and troubleshooting computers, networks, and software, plus training users and contributing to upgrade projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of technical service experience.
• Strong customer service orientation and ability to establish cooperative working relations with faculty, students, staff, and vendors.
• Ability to handle high-difficulty customer service situations calmly and efficiently.
• Excellent communication in English, written and spoken.
• Self-motivated, team player, able to work with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to learn new skills in a changing environment.
• Knowledge of common hardware peripherals and software applications (Microsoft Office, browsers, video conferencing, email).
• Experience with mobile devices and screen casting/connectivity issues.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support and resolve technical problems for faculty, staff, and students.
• Monitor service ticket system, classroom hotline, and email inboxes; respond promptly.
• Operate and troubleshoot A/V systems and collaboration tools in classrooms and spaces.
• Provide training and documentation to users and guests.
• Participate in technology upgrade and deployment projects across the Anderson complex.
