Job summary

Anderson Computing & Information Services (ACIS) at UCLA seeks an Anderson Technology Consultant to provide hands-on support for classrooms, offices, and learning spaces. You will maintain hardware and software across devices, coordinate with staff, and resolve issues via a ticket system and direct user contact.

Responsibilities include configuring and testing computers and A/V systems, delivering user training, and helping implement classroom technology upgrades.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of technical service experience (Required).
• Strong customer service orientation and ability to build cooperative relations with faculty, students, staff, and vendors (Required).
• Ability to handle high-difficulty customer service situations calmly and efficiently (Required).
• Clear, concise English communication in writing and speaking (Required).
• Self-motivated and able to work as part of a team (Required).
• Able to manage time under competing requests and deadlines (Required).
• Willingness to learn new skills in a changing environment (Required).
• Knowledge of PC/Mac software including Office, browsers, video conferencing, and email (Required).
• Working knowledge of software installations, testing, and hardware troubleshooting (Required).
• Experience with mobile devices, OS (Android/iOS), and screen casting/connectivity (Required).
• Ability to diagnose and suggest solutions using diagnostic tools (Required).
• Familiarity with projection and A/V equipment (Required).
• Ability to explain diagnostics to clients (Required).
• Ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a fast-paced setting (Required).
• Must lift/move equipment up to 30 pounds (Required).

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technology support to faculty, staff, and students in classrooms and learning spaces.
• Monitor service ticket system, classroom hotline, and email inboxes; respond in a timely manner.
• Configure, test, and troubleshoot computers, network, A/V equipment, and software.
• Deliver training and create documentation for Anderson users and guests.
• Research and deploy technology solutions; participate in upgrade projects.
