Job summary

Eastern Aroostook RSU 39 is seeking an Education Technician III to support students in the Day Treatment Program for grades 4–7 at Caribou Community School. Under the direction of a certified teacher, you will provide individualized and small-group instructional support aligned with IEPs, behavior plans, and classroom procedures.

Qualifications

• Current Maine Education Technician III authorization or eligibility.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience supporting students with behavioral, developmental, or diverse learning needs preferred.
• Ability to follow and implement instructional and behavioral plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized and small-group instructional support under the direction of a certified teacher
• Assist with implementing IEP goals, accommodations, and behavior plans
• Support students’ academic, behavioral, functional, and social-emotional development
• Help maintain a structured, safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
• Reinforce classroom instruction using strategies established by the teacher and student-support team
• Collect and document student data to assist with progress monitoring
• Use approved behavior-support and de-escalation strategies
• Collaborate with teachers, educational technicians, related service providers, and administrators
• Maintain accurate records, documentation, and student confidentiality
• Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school initiatives
• Perform other related duties as assigned
