Reporting to the Director of Incident Response, Education, and Compliance, the Education Specialist plays an important role in advancing the University’s efforts to prevent and respond to discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct through effective, accessible, and responsive education. The Education Specialist develops, implements, manages, and evaluates educational programs and resources for the University community. This includes institution-wide required education as well as targeted educational programming designed to address the needs of particular populations, units, or areas of the University. Working in collaboration with the Director, Office staff, and campus partners, the Education Specialist identifies and responds proactively and reactively to emerging educational needs and trends across the University community.
The Education Specialist must be able to respond proactively and reactively to the evolving needs of the University community and develop appropriate educational responses consistent with applicable law, University policy and procedures, and Office priorities.
The position requires flexibility in the delivery of educational programming across the University community, including in-person, virtual, online, and other appropriate formats, and may require presentations or educational programming during evenings and weekends.
Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience | Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related field and 4 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Preferred Qualifications | Advanced degree in instructional design, education, law, or related field. Knowledge of Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, or other civil rights and regulations. Experience developing and delivering education or training for varied audiences and through multiple delivery methods. Experience developing educational programming related to discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct, civil rights, compliance, or related subject matter. Experience in a higher education environment.

Ability to interact and build effective working relationships with individuals of various identities and backgrounds. Deliver educational programming to faculty, staff, students, and other University audiences through in-person, virtual, online, and other appropriate formats.
Develops and maintain processes to monitor participation and completion of required training and provide information regarding participation and completion by appropriate University organizational units.
In collaboration with the Director and appropriate University partners, develop and implement communication strategies supporting awareness of educational requirements, resources, and opportunities.
