Job summary

Montgomery College in Rockville seeks a full-time Program Coordinator for the Alternative Certification Program within the School of Education to support MSDE-certified teachers and strengthen workforce development in partnership with MCPS. The role requires coordination of staff, course materials, registrations, and external collaborations.

It includes heavy administrative duties, scheduling, and communications with faculty, staff, and families.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited institution.
• Two (2) years of experience in an administrative assistant or customer service role with significant interaction with the public by phone, e-mail, and face-to-face.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in program coordination, student services, workforce development, education, or related field.
• Knowledge of office practices and procedures.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Schedule, assign, inspect and review work of assigned staff to ensure work is performed according to established standards.
• Prepare course material requirements and coordinate the ordering, preparation and distribution for instructors and/or students.
• Distribute promotional materials and provide assistance regarding programs, services, policies and course requirements.
• Monitor faculty submission of required evaluations, reports, and forms; respond to difficult time-sensitive situations.
• Enter courses in the system for open enrollment and contract classes; coordinate with contract clients.
