Dayton Public Schools is seeking a Payroll Generalist to maintain payroll records, audit information for accuracy, and ensure staff are paid correctly according to policies and labor agreements.

The role involves processing garnishments, tax assignments, and voluntary deductions, with responsibility for payroll reports and month-end closures. Strong Excel skills and knowledge of government payroll regulations are essential.

Competenze

• Bachelor degree in Accounting or Business Management with 3 years of experience or equivalent.
• Payroll knowledge and experience required; government entity familiarity preferred.
• Proficient Excel skills including vlookups and pivot tables.
• Strong understanding of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices.

Mansioni

• Maintain employee payroll records in the district system and audit information for accuracy.
• Interpret and apply payroll policies, rules, and labor agreements to ensure correct pay.
• Process garnishments and update tax assignments for address changes.
• Prepare payroll-related general ledger entries and reconcile benefit withholdings.
• Generate month-end, quarterly, and annual payroll reports and respond to payroll inquiries.
