Job summary

Balfour Beatty Construction in Dallas, TX seeks a Superintendent for the education/municipal team. Required: K-12, higher education or municipal project experience; 4–7 years in field leadership; able to manage subcontractors, crews and safety on site.

The Superintendent will oversee field activities, ensure on-time and on-budget delivery, and coordinate with the project team to uphold BB Construction’s policies and quality standards.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Construction Management, Engineering, or Business preferred.
• 4–7 years of experience with at least 3 years in a Superintendent role.
• Ability to make decisions under tight deadlines.
• Ability to organize people, tools, and equipment to manage multiple activities.

Responsibilities

• Review and update progress and cost reports, schedules, and requirements to support the Project Manager/Senior Superintendent.
• Participate in preconstruction planning regarding schedule and budget; review estimates and cost control.
• Ensure materials and subcontract work comply with contract documents and quality specs; ensure proper testing and recording of test results.
• Direct and coordinate subcontractor and BB field personnel; communicate expectations regarding schedules, methods, policies, safety, quality, and performance.
• Attend weekly project progress meetings; assist closeout to settle financial obligations and demobilize resources.
• Build strong relationships with customers, design teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and user groups.
• Promote safety, culture, leadership and professional development across the team.
