Job summary

The Kenaitze Indian Tribe is seeking an Assistant Cook to support daily meal preparation and kitchen operations in the Education Department, ensuring meals meet quality and safety standards.

Requirements include at least 1 year of experience in culinary or food service, a High School Diploma or GED, and knowledge of USDA guidelines. Candidates must hold a Food Worker Card within 30 days, CPR/First Aid certification within 90 days, and a valid Alaska driver’s license; local travel is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in general meal preparation, including salads, desserts, and main courses.

• Assist in inventory control and rotating stock.
• Follow USDA-CACFP guidelines for menu planning and serving.
• May fill in for the cook during absences and help with cycle menus and special diets.
• Adhere to tribal policies and local regulations, and respect equipment and facilities.
