Job summary

Unalaska City School District is seeking a team-oriented food service aide to assist in preparing and serving nutritious meals for students and staff in Alaska. You will help store, clean, and safeguard meals, while operating food service equipment and pallet jacks with safety in mind.

The role requires reading procedures, following safety rules, and lifting up to 70 pounds. Preference given to those with Iñupiaq language or culture experience and a valid Alaska driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current Alaska Driver’s License.
• Read and interpret procedures and safety rules.
• Iñupiaq language or culture experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in production and service of school meals.
• Participate in storage, cleanup, and safety tasks.
• Operate food service vehicles to deliver food and staff to school sites.
• Expedite incoming and outgoing food as required.
• Handle freight and paperwork; lift and stock freight.
• Maintain neat and clean storage areas.
• Operate a pallet jack; lift up to 70 pounds.
• Adhere to district policies.
