Job summary

Killingly Public Schools is seeking a full-time IT Technician to serve as the primary contact for technology inquiries across district locations. The role emphasizes building strong relationships with administration and staff to maintain clear IT communication and policy compliance.

Responsibilities include configuring devices, troubleshooting hardware and software, and supporting educators and students. The technician reports to the Director of Information Technology and works 37.5 hours per

Qualifications

  • Two years of IT experience, preferably in education.
  • Working knowledge of Windows, MacOS, iOS and ChromeOS operating systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, including the ability to write documentation.
  • Basic networking and/or telecom experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting computer hardware, software, or other electronics.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Working knowledge or keen interest in Audio/Visual systems a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to district employees and configure devices.
  • Troubleshoot hardware/software issues and ensure user compliance with IT procedures and policies.
  • Build rapport with building administration and staff; work under the Director of Information Technology.
