Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware is seeking an Education Director to oversee program development, manage part-time staff and volunteers, and lead fundraising and community assessment efforts. The role includes building safety, enrollment growth, and marketing coordination for Extended Care and Summer programs.

Under limited guidance, you will implement a dynamic, standards-aligned curriculum, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with Delacare and OCCL/STARS.

Qualifications

• Must be at least twenty (20) years of age.
• Must possess School-Age Site Assistant Certificate.
• Must pass FBI clearance, State of Delaware Criminal History Background Check, National and State Sexual Abuse Registry check, and National and State Child Abuse Registry Check per Delacare regulations.
• 12 College credits related to the needs of school-age children served OR 60 credits including 12 related OR Bachelor degree with 12 related credits.
• With Educational Option A: Three (3) years’ experience working with children school-age or younger in a group setting.
• With Education Option B: Two (2) years’ experience working with children school-age or younger in a group setting.
• With Option C: 3 months supervised student teaching or 12 months experience working with children school-age or younger in a group setting.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement weekly lesson plans aligned with Delaware Common Core Standards and DE Stars.
• Supervise and motivate part-time staff, volunteers and youth.
• Communicate effectively with school communities, parents, and children.
• Interpret and implement organizational policies, goals and procedures.
• Assess community needs and aid marketing, enrollment and program expansion.
• Develop and promote programming for youth through planned curricula and activities.
• Complete required administrative paperwork and maintain accurate records.
• Oversee safety and upkeep of program areas and supplies.
• Attend trainings to meet OCCL/STARS requirements and maintain compliance.
