Job summary

Pursuit Aerospace in Newburyport, MA is seeking an EDM Operator/Machinist for 2nd shift to operate EDM machines and support precision manufacturing of aircraft engine components. The role requires 2+ years in a machine shop (1+ year CNC) and adherence to ITAR/EAR.

It is a full-time on-site position with safety-first culture and teamwork. Salary range is $23.00-$27.00 per hour, with comprehensive benefits including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, and PTO.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years machining in a shop, including at least 1 year CNC operator.
• Proficient in English (verbal and written).
• Authorized to work in the U.S. full-time without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Able to work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Responsibilities

• Keeps area, equipment, and tooling clean and maintained.

About the Opportunity:

We’re looking for an experienced EDM Operator/Machiniston 2nd Shift. This individual will have the opportunity to work with an inspiring team of experienced Machinists and Engineers.

Location:

Newburyport, MA. This position is 100% onsite.

Responsibilities:

• Performs all work in a safe manner, using appropriate PPE and following safety guidelines for the assigned task.
• Performs minor set-ups and operates EDM machines and related equipment where programs, fixtures, and methods have been developed.
• Makes all edits and adjustments as required to produce parts to work orders/blue print specifications/sketches.
• Demonstrates a working knowledge of feeds and speeds and a working knowledge of cutting tools and their application.
• Inspects work for all dimensional features as required.
• Produces quality and quantity of work in accordance with Company requirements.
• Accurately completes paperwork relating to counts, scrap, time, etc. according to Company policy.
• Performs duties exercising good machining practices at all times.
• Maintains area, equipment, and tooling in a neat, orderly condition including operator maintenance sheets.
• Maintains coolant tanks and fills as necessary.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of experience working with machinery in a machine shop, with at least 1 year as a CNC Operator
• Must be proficient in the English language, both verbal and written.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
• Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience on Charmilles and Mitsubishi wire EDM is a plus.
• Able to understand and interpret blueprints and sketches.
• Demonstrated mechanical ability is strongly preferred.
• Troubleshooting Skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Working Conditions:

• Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment.
• Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
• Must be able to have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
