Job summary

Pursuit Aerospace is seeking an EDM Operator (Second Shift) in Newburyport, MA. This full-time, on-site role requires CNC/EDM experience and a strong commitment to quality and safety.

You will work with experienced machinists to produce aircraft engine components to tight tolerances. Ideal candidates have 2–4 years of machining experience, familiarity with EDM processes, and the ability to interpret blueprints.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–4 years of machining experience in a shop environment.
• Ability to work in ITAR/EAR regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Operates EDM machines and related equipment per programs and fixtures.
• Edits and adjusts processes to meet blueprint/spec drawings.
• Inspects dimensional features and ensures conformance to specs.
• Maintains neat work area and completes paperwork per policy.
• Adheres to safety guidelines and uses PPE as required.

EDM Operator

Full-time Regular Direct Manufacturing Newburyport, MA, US

Salary Range: $23.00 To $27.00 Hourly

About the Opportunity:

We’re looking for an experienced SecondShift EDM Machinist, who has completed a CNC Machining Program. This individual will have the opportunity to work with an inspiring team of experienced Machinists and Engineers.

Location:

Newburyport, MA. This position is 100% onsite.

Responsibilities:

• Performs all work in a safe manner, using appropriate PPE and following safety guidelines for the assigned task.
• Performs minor set-up and operates EDM machines and related equipment where programs, fixtures, and methods have been developed.
• Makes all edits and adjustments as required to produce parts to work orders/blue print specifications/sketches.
• Demonstrates a working knowledge of feeds and speeds and a working knowledge of cutting tools and their application.
• Inspects work for all dimensional features as required.
• Produces quality and quantity of work in accordance with Company requirements.
• Accurately completes paperwork relating to counts, scrap, time, etc. according to Company policy.
• Performs duties exercising good machining practices at all times.
• Maintains area, equipment, and tooling in a neat, orderly condition including operator maintenance sheets.
• Maintains coolant tanks and fills as necessary.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalency certified required.
• 2-4 years or more of Machining background and/or experience in a machine shop.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
• Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Able to understand and interpret blueprints and sketches.
• Must have demonstrated mechanical ability.
• Must have a minimum of one year of experience as a CNC operator.
• Experience on Charmilles and Mitsubishi wire EDM a plus.
• Troubleshooting Skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Working Conditions:

• Requires mobility in a manufacturing plant environment while using Personal Protective Equipment.
• Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
