Job summary

ISHE seeks a talented editorial project manager to support manuscript submissions for two journals, ensuring compliance with submission elements and assisting authors with issues. The role also manages podcast projects from content suggestions to scheduling, and contributes to editorial workflows as directed by the Publications Director.

The ideal candidate holds a BA in communications or related fields, understands peer review processes, ethics, and confidentiality, and communicates

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communication or related field.
• Understanding of the peer review process, including ethics and confidentiality standards is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Manages manuscript submission program for two journals, ensuring compliance with submission elements.
• Coordinate with editors regarding peer review and manuscript decisions; ensure editorial workflows are followed.
• Manage companion papers programs including editorials and visual abstracts.
• Flag articles not appropriate for the journal for review and withdrawal as approved.
• Provide editorial support to authors, reviewers, and editors; respond to inquiries and provide manuscript updates.
• Assist with Disclosures and CME for reviewers as needed.
• Project manage Podcasts from solicitation to handoff to podcast editor.
• Convert large video files to downloadable links for authors/reviewers/editors.
