Job summary

The Oregon Department of Justice seeks a Legal Support Services Manager 1 - Trial Division to lead a small team of paraprofessionals and guide eDiscovery platforms and workflow across high-volume matters.

You will recruit, develop staff, and align policies with Trial Division goals, working with leadership to drive training and performance management for efficient, precise legal support services.

Qualifications

• Five years of lead work, supervision, or progressively related experience.
• Two years of related experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related field, AND
• Have and maintain a valid Oregon driver’s license.
• Preference may be given to those with two years of experience as a high-level legal support professional.

Responsibilities

• Exercise full supervisory authority over a small team of paraprofessionals in the Trial Division, including one subordinate supervisor.
• Contribute to developing and evaluating policies, procedures, and operational improvements related to eDiscovery.
• Identify training needs and contribute to eDiscovery training programs aligned with goals.
• Participate in legal case staffing with attorneys and review paraprofessional work for compliance.
• Review paraprofessional billing, invoices and eDiscovery contracts; assist with workload planning.
• Participate directly in paraprofessional work during peak periods and support workloads.
