Job summary

The Oregon Department of Justice’s Trial Division seeks a Legal Support Services Supervisor 2 to lead a fast‑paced legal office in Salem or Portland. You will oversee legal secretaries, paralegals, and a supervising staff, directing workflow and ensuring high‑quality operations across sections.

Ideal candidates bring 4+ years in lead supervision in civil and/or corrections litigation, plus the ability to mentor staff and manage budgets.

Qualifications

• Four years of lead work, supervision, or progressively related experience; OR one year of related experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related field, AND a valid Oregon driver’s license.
• Preference may be given to those with two years of experience as a high-level legal support professional.

• Knowledge of Civil and/or Corrections Litigation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a multidisciplinary legal support team, including a subordinate supervisor, with full responsibility for hiring, performance management, coaching, and discipline.
• Identify training needs and contribute to Trial Division–wide training aligned with strategic goals.
• Collaborate with Trial Division leadership to resolve employee issues and support division-wide staffing and planning.
