The Oregon Department of Justice is seeking a Legal Support Services Supervisor 2 to lead a team of legal secretaries and paralegals in the Salem or Portland office. You will supervise multiple sections, oversee workflow and budgeting, and drive high-quality operations across Civil and Corrections Litigation units.

Strong leadership, collaboration, and strategic planning are essential as you mentor staff and coordinate with attorneys and court partners to ensure timely case progress.

Formación

• Four years of lead work, supervision, or progressively related experience; OR one year of related experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related field, AND
• Have and maintain a valid Oregon driver's license.
• Preference may be given to those with two years of experience as a high-level legal support professional.

Responsabilidades

• Supervise a multidisciplinary legal support team, including a subordinate supervisor, with full responsibility for hiring, performance management, coaching, and discipline.
• Identify training needs, provide development opportunities, and contribute to Trial Division–wide training aligned with strategic goals.
• Collaborate with Trial Division leadership to resolve employee issues and support division-wide staffing and planning efforts.
• Oversee clerical, administrative, and paraprofessional work for assigned sections, ensuring compliance with laws, rules, and legal procedures.
• Review paraprofessional work, documentation, evidence, and exhibits for accuracy and legal sufficiency; participate in case staffing with attorneys.
• Manage workload distribution, coordinate workflow with courts and partner agencies, and contribute to division-wide workload planning.
• Review paraprofessional billing, monitor office budget activity with leadership, compile data, prepare management reports, and recommend resource allocations.
• Perform administrative tasks during peak periods or urgent needs and assist with complex or sensitive operational work to maintain continuity of services.
