Job summary

CGS Federal in Los Angeles, CA, with remote and hybrid options, seeks an eDiscovery Technician to support a large federal agency within the Legal department.

Responsibilities include logging productions, assessing cover letters, virus scanning, and preparing data for Relativity, with load-ready checks and coordination with Litigation Support. Requires 3 years of eDiscovery experience, a Bachelor's degree (or substitution), US citizenship, and ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

• Bachelor’s degree; three years of additional relevant work experience may substitute for the degree

• Ability to deliver high-quality work under pressure and tight deadlines
• Experience managing multiple tasks as described in duties

Responsibilities

• Log the production in the Agency's eDiscovery Tracking System.
• Digest the cover letter and provide a brief description of the production.
• If media is encrypted and no password is provided, obtain it from the producing party.
• Determine if the cover letter qualifies for loading into Relativity.
• Virus scan the production off-network using multiple protection tools.
• Follow protocol to address issues or reject the production if needed.
• Copy clean production to the Agency's network.
• Follow procedures for handling various document types (e.g., MOUs, whistleblower, RFPA, etc.).
• Analyze productions to determine required processing and protocol.
• Verify data completeness and load readiness for transfer.
• Monitor for productions arriving via email and FTP.
• Scan and OCR paper documents for Relativity loading.
• Coordinate off-site scanning of large document boxes.
