Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton, a global Am Law 50 firm, is seeking a hard-working, proactive, motivated individual to serve as an eDiscovery Analyst.

This position can be held in any of our U.S. offices including Los Angeles, Century City, Orange County, Del Mar, San Diego (Downtown), Silicon Valley, San Francisco, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, New York, and Washington DC. There is only one opening.

This is a fully remote position with the hours of 2:00pm-10:30pm PST.

Job Summary

The eDiscovery Analyst supports the firm’s eDiscovery Project Managers by performing day-to-day technical and operational tasks associated with the firm’s eDiscovery matters. The Analyst is expected to be hands-on with data, support quality control, help maintain defensible documentation, and contribute to efficient, accurate deliverables. This role requires a deep expertise in Relativity's processing engine, import/export tool, search indexes, imaging, OCRing, and exporting productions.

Essential Functions

• Able to translate technical issues and eDiscovery best practices to case teams in a way that enables them to understand the decision points and have confidence in the outcomes.
• Comfortable being hands on with the data as needed at each stage of the EDRM, including data processing, exception handling, data loading, deploying and leveraging analytics, running productions and other database maintenance and administration.
• Comfortable with creating load files from scratch, modifying load files to correct errors, etc.
• Ability to recognize situations that would benefit from non-standard solutions and seek out additional guidance where appropriate.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years' experience as an eDiscovery Analyst, preferably in a large law firm environment.
• Effective oral and written communication skills, focused on clarity, accuracy and tact.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple matters and elevate issues as appropriate.
• Customer service orientation with attention to detail and process management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver results to case teams with moderate direct supervision.
• Emotional intelligence and professionalism consistent with the firm's performance culture.

Computer/Software Knowledge:

Hands On Skill With The Following Tools

• Relativity, including Relativity processing.
• Editing and conversion applications such as UltraEdit, NotePad++ and TextPad
• Knowledge of advanced text editors such as Ready Suite, Notepad++, UltraEdit, TextPad, EM editor.
• Transcript/exhibit and key fact management tools such as Casefleet, TextMap, Legora, Everchron, Opus2.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, MS Teams.
• Basic understanding of forensic data collection tools and methodologies.

Preferred

Knowledge of Page Vault preferred

Work Environment

• Working indoors with limited exposure to hazards (only those that customarily come up in working in a high-rise or office building).
• Indoor office work environment.
• You will be based in one of our local Sheppard Mullin offices but will be allowed to work from home.
• You are required to come into the office on an as-needed basis.
• Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

California: The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $145,000 per year.

Illinois: The salary range for this position is: $120,000 - $145,000 per year. This position is eligible for bonuses. This position is also eligible for medical, vision, and dental insurance. Please note that the foregoing compensation and benefit information is a good-faith assessment associated with this position only and is provided pursuant to Illinois Equal Pay Act.

Washington DC: The pay range for this position is: $120,000 - $145,000 per year. Medical, vision, and dental coverage is available, including coverage for dependents and domestic partners. Please note that the foregoing compensation and benefit information is a good-faith assessment associated with this position as of the time of this posting and is provided pursuant to the District of Columbia Wage Transparency Omnibus Amendment Act of 2023.

New York: The pay range for this position is: $120,000 - $145,000 per year. Please note that the foregoing compensation information is a good-faith assessment associated with this position only and is provided pursuant to the New York City Salary Transparency Law.
