Job summary

David Protein in New York City is seeking an EDI Manager to own the systems connections that scale our retail business as we expand across mass, club, grocery, and distributor channels.

You will lead trading partner onboarding, certify connections, and design the data architecture tying ERP, warehouse, and transportation systems.

The role demands hands-on work with EDI transactions and a vision for three-year data infrastructure, while working full time in the NYC office.

Qualifications

• 3+ years owning EDI in a CPG, food, or consumer products environment.
• Deep fluency in ANSI X12 — read raw envelopes and diagnose whether issue is ours or partner's.
• Hands-on experience with retail and grocery EDI (850, 855, 856, 810, 860, 997, 875, 880) and warehouse transactions (940, 943, 945).
• Direct NetSuite experience, specifically with EDI connectors and the customer, item, and pricing records they depend on.
• Experience with Orderful’s EDI platform preferred.
• Clear communication with non-technical partners about why an order did not flow.

Responsibilities

• Own the daily transaction queue end to end, triaging and troubleshooting.
• Diagnose across the full stack: X12, connector configuration, ERP master data, pricing, and warehouse handoff.
• Convert recurring failures into preventive policy or configuration fixes.
• Replace manual workarounds with automated flows for order ingestion, acknowledgment, and invoicing.
• Build monitoring and reporting for stuck orders, aging exceptions, ingestion cycle time, and partner compliance.
• Run onboarding end to end, including trade requests, specifications, configuration, testing, certification, and go-live.
• Seed customer, DC, item, and pricing records ahead of go-live; expand document coverage as partner requirements grow.
• Design and own the trading partner integration architecture (EDI vs API) and vendor relationships.
