Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) GCNA-D seeks a Network Development Engineer to design, operate, and sustain large-scale IP networks that connect data centers and customers worldwide. You will focus on scalable, fail-proof connectivity and work across teams to roll out new designs and tooling that enable fast, reliable service delivery.

In a 24x7 on-call environment, you’ll lead deployments, optimize performance, and collaborate with network, systems, and software engineers to keep AWS networks secure,

Qualifications

• 4+ years of major internet routing protocols experience.
• 4+ years of Linux/Unix environment experience.
• 4+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl.

Responsibilities

• Perform network and/or systems operations, deployments, scaling, sustaining engineering, and documentation.
• Create and implement changes on the network according to change management standards.
• Collaborate with automation teams to define tools enabling higher-scale operations.
• Lead network projects in sustaining engineering, deployment, scaling, and optimization.
• Maintain AWS customers' networks by diagnosing, mitigating impact, and resolving large-scale events.
• Operate and troubleshoot routing, interconnectivity, platforms, and performance with Unix and networking tools.
• Drive innovation from top-of-rack to network border across the estate.
• Partner with Network/Infrastructure to standardize configurations and tools.
• Work with Network/Systems/Software teams for fast roll-out and deployment of tools.
• Maintain standards across the networking toolset and ensure policy compliance.
• Deliver simple, sustainable, and repeatable solutions and processes.
• Collaborate with escalation engineers/resolvers.
• Create and review documentation for deployments, recurring issues, SOPs, and knowledge transfer.
