Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Milton, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Unit Coordinator to support the Emergency Department operations, coordinating front desk activities, patient flow, and communication with patients and families to ensure a smooth care experience.

The role collaborates with the Charge Nurse, care team, and physicians to prioritize tasks and maintain efficient ED operations. Training and safety initiatives are part of the position.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to the completion of high school, plus 3 to 12 months related experience.
• Excellent communication skills needed.
• Ability to type.
• Ability to work in a busy environment.
• Medical terminology preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 and Epic systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support to clinical staff, patients, and families.
• Manage front desk operations, including communication, coordination, and information flow.
• Support department efficiency and patient throughput, helping maintain a smooth care experience.
• Collaborate closely with the Charge Nurse and care team to prioritize tasks and respond to real-time needs.
• Serve as a central point of contact, helping ensure the team stays informed, organized, and connected.
