Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Milton, Inc. is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to join a community hospital ED team. This role supports nurses and physicians, performs phlebotomy and EKGs, and assists with patient care in a busy, collaborative setting.

The position requires a High School diploma or GED and BLS certification, with experience in computer systems and MS Office. Weekend shifts are involved in a 4-week cycle, and a strong teamwork mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association required.
• Experience with computer systems and MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prioritizes and completes responsibilities delegated by nurses and physicians.
• Maintains a calm and professional demeanor while working in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
• Performs EKGs, phlebotomy, wound care, splinting, crutch walking, and activities of daily living; assists providers and patients.
• Performs phlebotomy and specimen collection and point-of-service lab testing according to protocol.
• Communicates results to appropriate staff and documents in the medical record.
• Maintains supply inventory and stocks supplies, linen, or office goods; ensures equipment is cleaned and ready for the next patient.
