Job summary

Advocate Health's Aurora St. Lukes Medical Center ED is hiring a full-time ED technician to support refurbishing, rounds, and equipment planning.

You will document in Care Connection, assist ED leadership, and ensure safety and patient satisfaction efforts are carried out. You should hold a CNA/EMT/LPN/Medical Assistant certification, have 2–4 years in an ED, strong PC skills, and excellent communication and organizational abilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2–4 years of experience in an emergency department.
• CNA/EMT/LPN/Medical Assistant certification.
• Proficiency with PC and familiarity with ED equipment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day refurbishing initiatives in the ED.
• Conduct regular department rounds using the daily rounding tool; ensure documentation in Care Connection.
• Provide input to ED leadership regarding equipment needs and planning.
• Identify and address cleaning needs during rounds.
• Evaluate supply usage and adjust par levels quarterly.
• Represent the ED on Leadership Team and attend leadership meetings.
• Co-chair monthly ED technician staff meetings.
• Review patient satisfaction data and implement improvement actions.
• Ensure ED technicians follow safety initiatives.
• Function as an ED technician when needed.
