Job summary

Sentara Princess Anne Hospital in Virginia Beach is seeking an Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) for the Evening shift. The full-time position (36hrs) supports physicians and nurses in implementing care plans for emergency patients, performs procedures under supervision, and helps with triage, vitals, and stocking.

Candidates should have a HS diploma or equivalent and EMT-B certification at hire, or a qualifying military hospital corps background.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or Equivalent.
• EMT-B certification at time of hire or equivalent.
• Active enrollment in an accredited clinical program (RN/LPN/Resp/ PT, etc.).
• Candidates with prior Sentara ED tech experience eligible for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Assist Physician/Advanced Practitioner/Nurse with care plans.
• Perform patient procedures and treatments under supervision.
• Support ED team with triage, vital signs, stocking and Basic Life Support tasks.

Education

Overview: Sentara is hiring an Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) at Sentara Princess Anne Hospital, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Shift: Full-Time (36hrs) - Evenings 3P-3A An ED Tech Assists the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse in implementing plans of care for emergency/minor emergency care patients. Performs patient procedures and treatments under the supervision of the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse. In this role, you are an integral part of the Emergency Department Team. Education:

HS Diploma or Equivalent

Job Requirements/Certifications:

• Required: Clinical - <1 year
• Required: EMT-B with state or national certification at time of hire OR Successful completion of US Military Hospital Corps School, qualified MMAC candidates OR.
• Current students enrolled in a clinical program (e.g., RN, LPN, Respiratory, Physical Therapy).
• Candidates with prior employment in the Sentara ED tech job code in the past two years will also be considered in lieu of the 3 criteria above.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $20.07 - $29.88 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
