Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital in Virginia Beach, VA, is hiring an Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) for the ED. This part-time, 24-hour-per-week role works days (7a-7p) and supports nurses and doctors with patient care, including lab draws and EKGs, in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Sentara emphasizes teamwork and offers comprehensive benefits as part of a recognized Level III Trauma Center with 273 beds, serving Virginia Beach and surrounding communities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• EMT-B certification or equivalent clinical qualification required at time of hire, or eligible military hospital corps/advanced clinical program status.

Responsibilities

• Assist nurses and doctors with patient care in ED.
• Perform lab draws and EKGs as assigned.
• Support both inpatient and outpatient ED settings with teamwork.

Job Summary

As an Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) with Sentara, you can work in either inpatient or outpatient Emergency Department settings. This role is a great gateway to begin your career in the medical field. This position's primary responsibilities include lab draws, EKGs, and assisting the nurses and doctors with patient care. You will find that teamwork is exceptional, with everyone working together to ensure the best care for our patients.

Job Requirements

• Required: High School Grad Diploma or Equivalent
• Required: Clinical experience - <1 year
• Required: EMT-B with state or national certification at time of hire OR Successful completion of US Military Hospital Corps School, qualified MMAC candidates OR current students enrolled in an advanced clinical program (e.g., RN, LPN, Respiratory, Physical Therapy).

Candidates with prior employment in the Sentara ED tech job code in the past two years will also be considered in lieu of the 3 criteria above.
