The position demands a current police officer or equivalent certification, firearm credentials, and willingness to work varied shifts.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Technical or Associate Degree in law enforcement, social science, physiology, or related fields preferred
• BLS/CPR required upon hire or within 30 days of hire
• Certified Police Officer with a valid law enforcement certification required
• Firearm Certification required
• This is a safety sensitive position
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and manage conflicts
• Physical ability to stand, walk, and respond quickly to emergencies
• Knowledge of laws and regulations regarding safety, security, and patient confidentiality
• Strong knowledge of emergency procedures, de-escalation techniques, and conflict resolution
• Current and active police officer
• Minimum 1 year of experience in law enforcement
• Preferred 1 year supervisory experience in a healthcare environment
• Knowledge of security operations and protocols in healthcare or hospital environments
• Experience in hospital or healthcare security preferred

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergencies and maintain order in the hospital setting
• Enforce hospital policies and provide support during potentially volatile situations
• Collaborate with hospital staff, local law enforcement, and emergency services to maintain a secure ED environment
