Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Driver’s license and auto liability insurance required.
• AVADE Training within 6 months of date of hire or transfer.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a security officer role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Protect everyone on the hospital grounds from physical threats, violence, and other harm.
• Monitor entrances and exits to prevent unauthorized access and screen visitors.
• Conduct regular patrols and monitor security camera feeds to detect issues early.
• Respond to codes, alarms, incidents, and emergencies and coordinate with other emergency services.
• De-escalate tense situations using verbal and problem-solving skills while maintaining safety.
• Safeguard equipment, supplies, and confidential information from theft or vandalism.
• Assist patients, visitors, and staff with escorts, especially after hours or for vulnerable individuals.
• Document security incidents with detailed reports for management and investigations.
• Maintain relationships with internal and external clients and coordinate with emergency services as needed.
