Job summary

HCA Florida South Shore Hospital is seeking an RN for the Emergency Department to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care across the ED team. You will collaborate with physicians and staff to coordinate comprehensive care using established nursing models and patient advocacy to optimize outcomes and satisfaction.

You will assess pain, perform procedures, document care in the EHR, and educate patients and families about their conditions, medications, and follow-up plans.

Qualifications

• RN license and credentials required.
• ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale, and PALS certifications are required within specified timelines.
• Associate Degree in Nursing is required.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management and reassessments after intervention.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider; documents care in the EHR.
• Responds promptly to patient requests and anticipates patient needs.
• Teaches patients and families about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up measures; translates complex terminology.
• Provides patient and family education on non-medical follow-up measures such as diet and exercise.
