Job summary

Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley seeks a Professional Development Practitioner (PDP) who collaborates with department leaders to provide safe, high-quality patient care and professional practice. The PDP supports regulatory initiatives, safety, onboarding, in-service, and continuing education programs using evidence-based methods.

The role includes developing curricula, mentoring staff, and aligning clinical competencies with performance criteria, while collaborating with subject matter experts

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university required
• Master's degree in Nursing preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in clinical nursing
• Experience in planning educational programs and/or teaching of clinically relevant content
• Participation in professional organizations preferred
• Certification in Nurse Professional Development upon hire or within 2 years
• Current American Heart Association BLS required with additional AHA Certification based on role

Responsibilities

• Promotes quality patient care by serving as a resource to department leaders and hospital administration regarding evidence-based practices
• Provides education to employees based on identified needs
• Maintains competency in professional development specialty
• Designs curriculum incorporating evidence-based practice and regulatory requirements
• Develops, implements, and evaluates cost-effective educational programs and materials
• Mentors employees, students, and interns
