Job summary

Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley is seeking a Professional Development Practitioner to collaborate with department leaders in delivering safe, high-quality patient care and advancing professional practice. The PDP will lead education programs, onboarding, and continuing education initiatives, promoting evidence-based practice and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include developing curricula, mentoring staff, and aligning programs with department needs while ensuring quality and safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
• Master's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience.
• Experience in planning educational programs and teaching content.
• Certification in Nurse Professional Development preferred or within 2 years.
• Current American Heart Association BLS required; additional role-specific certification may apply.

Responsibilities

• Promotes quality patient care by serving as a resource to department leaders and hospital administration regarding evidence-based practices.
• Provides education to employees based on identified needs.
• Maintains competency in professional development specialty.
• Develops, implements, and evaluates cost-effective educational programs and materials.
• Identifies needs for and methods to enhance employee development.
• Teaches in formal and informal settings and mentors staff.
