Job summary

Mass General Brigham Inc. is seeking a Patient Access representative for the Emergency Department. The role is 40 hours per week, onsite in Dover, NH, with a day shift (7:00 am–3:30 pm).

Primary duties include checking in patients, verifying demographics and insurance, scheduling, and explaining policies to patients. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 1-2 years experience in admitting, scheduling, registration, or insurance verification preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in a professional and friendly manner.
• Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information, and enter information into systems.
• Schedule appointments and confirm patient information.
• Explain insurance and billing policies/procedures to patients.
• Process payments and provide receipts.
• Obtain pre-authorization for procedures as needed.
• Handle patient questions, concerns and issues, escalating to patient access senior staff or manager as needed.
